The safety and health of all employees and contractors is of the utmost priority to Copper Mountain’s management. Training programs, safe work procedures, site housekeeping and operational standards are enforced at Copper Mountain Mining Corporation, to ensure that all work is undertaken in a safe manner with minimal risk to employees and equipment.
At year’s end, we had a total of 59 people on our Emergency Response Teams with 46 certified in Mine Rescue as well as 34 qualified in Occupational First Aid, Level 3.
Copper Mountain participated in both the Zone Mine Rescue and Three Person Miner First Aid competitions.
There are 27 crew member representatives on our Joint Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Committee and they participate in monthly workplace inspections and meetings to discuss health, safety and environmental matters.
Copper Mountain has won the Edward Prior Award for being the safest mid-sized mine in British Columbia three out of the last six years.
